Xiris WeldMic™

Xiris WeldMic™

The Xiris WeldMic™ is a welding microphone option specifically designed for integration with a Xiris weld camera to be able to clearly hear, record and playback the welding sound.  Audio integration with weld cameras gives fabricators two sensory inputs – sight and sound – to help them remotely monitor and fine-tune the welding process.

Key Features

  • Easily hear welding anomalies in GMAW processes such as wire feed issues, porosity, burn through, contamination, unstable arc, and changes in welding transfer modes.
  • Robust, stainless-steel body can tolerate harsh welding environments and includes a replaceable acoustic sleeve to protect against weld spatter and sparks.
  • Conduct offline analysis for quality assurance with the ability to export captured audio data to CSV files.
  • Integrate real time audio data into your existing control devices and third-party software using the OPC-UA or Modbus/TCP interface add-ins.
  • Record reliable and clear audio using a cardioid pick up pattern with noise reduction, which eliminates unwanted background noise.
  • When used with WeldStudio™ 3 Pro (optional), operators can benefit from automatically generated anomaly alerts using the Audio AI Tool. The Audio AI tool is easy to teach in production, as it includes a self-learning algorithm from an audio sample of the user’s process. Once the tool has been taught, it can be used in Run mode to automatically alarm when the welding process deviates from the standard process.
  • For existing Xiris weld camera systems or where a Xiris weld camera is connected to a 3rd party PC, the Standalone WeldMic™ kit with a separate Xiris Audio processing module can be easily added and connected via a short USB cable.
